When you register a domain, you have to provide a valid address, email account and telephone in accordance with the policy approved by ICANN, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. This information, though, is not kept only by the registrar company, but is accessible to the public on WHOIS lookup sites too, so anyone can check your info and a lot of individuals may not be delighted with that fact. As a result, lots of domain registrars have launched the so-called Whois Privacy Protection service, which conceals the domain registrant’s details and upon a WHOIS lookup, people will view the details of the registrar, not the domain owner’s. This service is also called Privacy Protection or Whois Privacy Protection, but all these terms refer to the same service. Now, most of the TLDs around the world allow Whois Privacy Protection to be added, but there are still country-code extensions that do not support this option.

Whois Privacy Protection in Cloud Hosting

If you order a cloud hosting package from our company, you will be able to enable Whois Privacy Protection for any of your domain names if their extensions support this option. You can register/transfer a domain and enable Whois Privacy Protection during the signup process or you can activate the service for any of your domain names at any time later through the Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The procedure is incredibly easy – after you sign in, you’ll need to go to the Registered Domains section where you’ll notice a list of all the domain names that you’ve registered through our company. For each one of them you will see an “Whois Privacy Protection” sign, which will inform you if the service is active or not. By clicking on it, you can either Whois Privacy Protect the domain name, or you can disable the service if it is currently enabled.

Whois Privacy Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you register a domain name under it, you can activate our Whois Privacy Protection service without effort. This takes just a couple of clicks in the Registered Domains section of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you administer everything associated with your semi-dedicated hosting account. This is where you can see all your active domain names and for each one of them you will find an “Whois Privacy Protection” sign, using which you can order, renew or disable the service. Of course, this can be done only with generic and country-code domain name extensions that are Whois Privacy Protection-eligible and you’ll be able to see this beforehand, so you won’t end up purchasing a service that we can’t provide.
